IT Help Desk Technician

Remote Full-Time (Contract to Hire) Support

Join our dynamic medical technology team as a Full-Time IT Help Desk Technician supporting groundbreaking vision research and treatment software. This remote position offers the opportunity to provide critical technical support for cutting-edge virtual reality applications while helping save and improve vision for millions of people worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain availability to answer phone calls, emails, and chat on Slack for 32 hours per week during pre-arranged time windows with some flexibility
  • Report to and communicate regularly with the Director of Support, Logistics, and AI Automation
  • Communicate with the development team as needed to resolve technical issues
  • Track and update tickets in ZenDesk to ensure proper documentation and resolution
  • Provide comprehensive technical troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networking layers
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and empathy

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical support experience covering hardware, software, and networking
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to identify appropriate resolution layers based on available information
  • Exemplary customer service skills with genuine care for helping users
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently without constant supervision after training
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Reliable internet connection and home office setup suitable for remote work

Nice to Have

  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • Familiarity with VR headsets and immersive technologies
  • Experience with Android and Windows operating systems
  • Previous experience in healthcare or medical technology support

Clinical Project Manager

Remote Part-Time (Contractor) Clinical Research

Vivid Vision seeks an exceptional individual with experience in clinical project management to help us conduct research and develop cutting-edge vision tests and treatments for virtual reality headsets. Work with a small, fun, highly motivated, highly skilled team to contribute to vital medical research in a flexible, work-from-home setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Interface and Coordination: Serve as a primary point of contact for clinical trials counterparts at pharmaceutical companies that use our product. Build relationships with pharma clients, reading centers, and distributors, as well as direct communication with sites engaged in trials.
  • Monitoring and Problem Management: Monitor incoming data from trials and maintain awareness of any problems that arise. Coordinate solutions across all parties involved and track partner performance.
  • Process Development and Project Management: Identify problems that require new processes and manage projects to implement solutions. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement improvements.
  • Documentation Management: Manage the creation of documentation for different audiences including patients, trial sites, reading centers, and pharmaceutical clients.
  • Data Processing Oversight: Maintain awareness of data processing and analysis commitments and coordinate with internal teams to ensure we meet all client commitments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, clinical research, or a related field (Master's degree/PhD is a plus)
  • Experience with medical devices and regulatory environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with clinical settings, site training, and/or site certification is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage relationships across complex organizations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative skills preferred
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a regulated environment
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities

Vision Scientist with Coding Ability

Vivid Vision seeks an exceptional individual with experience in psychophysics to help us conduct research and develop cutting-edge vision tests and treatments for virtual reality headsets. Work with a small, fun, highly motivated, highly skilled team to contribute to vital medical research in a flexible, work-from-home setting.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Chief Scientist (Benjamin Backus) on ongoing research projects, with academic and industry partners
  • Analyze data, prepare scientific reports, and present findings at conferences and in publications
  • Interact with academic and industry partners
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in vision science and related fields
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications
  • Engage in collaborative projects with academic and industry partners

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in psychophysics and vision science (PhD in Vision Science, or outstanding undergraduate performance with research experience)
  • Proven ability to work independently and complete projects without direct supervision
  • Proficient in coding high-level language(s) such as Python
  • Familiarity with Matlab, R, TypeScript, Julia, and other programming environments is a plus
  • Portfolio including some or all of the following: GitHub repos, Python notebooks, research manuscripts, letters of recommendation
  • Ability to wear different hats

Nice to Have

  • First-author publication
  • Experience in grant writing and securing research funding
  • Experience using GPT 4 and/or GitHub Copilot as a coding tool
  • Experience with the Unity game engine or C#
  • US citizen or permanent resident
Note: This is a full-time position with an estimated average time commitment of 40 hours a week. Starts with contracting, with potential to become a full-time salaried position with equity in the company.
